Mahendra Singh Dhoni captain cool. No need for any introduction, everyone knows him. He is the most successful Indian captain, great wicket-keeper and the best finisher. He is famous for his captaincy, extraordinary wicket-keeping and batting skills. Everyone wants to be successful like him. But what makes him this much successful? What is the mantra of his success? How and what he think? Is it possible to apply his way of thinking in other fields also?
I interpreted Mahi`s way of thinking from his
interviews, biopic and Sfurti Sahare`s book ‘Think and win like Dhoni’.
They are simple and easy to understand and I hope it will help you in achieving
desired goal.
So let’s see The Way Dhoni Thinks.
“Success is all about conditioning your mind.” – M.S.
Dhoni
This is the first mantra of Dhoni`s success. Mental preparation
is the first step towards the success. Celestine Chua said, “Success is 99%
attitude and 1% aptitude.” Right Attitude is the key. Prepare your mind,
keep positive attitude, remove negative thoughts, don’t overthink about anything
and stay calm. It`s not what happened to you, it’s how you react to it. Always react
in positive way.
“If you practice a shot 100 times, only then you
will be confident about. That confidence will give you positive attitude.
Confidence without hard work is fake confidence. Failure is sure to happen. Go
full throttle. I completely believe in it” – M.S. Dhoni
Hard work is necessary, without it you cannot
achieve your desired goal. Practice makes
you confident, confidence makes you positive and positive attitude makes you
successful. These are the wheels of the success Hard work, Confidence and
Positive Attitude. Absence of any of it will lead you to failure.
Mental Preparation + Physical
Preparation = The Complete Process.
“I like to make things simpler for my mind. I like
to create simple plans. Once the plans are simple and achievable for the mind,
they are easy to execute.” – M.S. Dhoni
To achieve something we have to plan and set different
goals. So next mantra is about Goals. It is interesting the way Dhoni achieve
the goals. He set small goals, he keep them simple as easy to achieve and visualized it as he achieved that goal. So the mantra is Set a small goals,
simplify your goals, visualize as you achieved it and grab the opportunities.
If opportunity doesn’t knock, create
one!
“I believe in the process more than the results. If
you are properly prepared, physically and mentally committed to task and fully engaged
in moment, then I have no problem with the outcome.” – M.S. Dhoni
We often heard him saying, ‘Follow the Process.’
The process includes Positive thoughts, Preparation, Calmness, and Clarity.
If you want to lose some weight then exercise is the process. If you want to be
calmer then meditation is the process. If you want to crack interview then
preparation is the process. If you want to make business decision then
strategies is the process. So don’t worry about results, always give 100%,
eliminate negative emotions and fear, keep things simple, Don’t obsessing and
overthinking.
“Staying in the moment is my mantra of success. I
just go from one moment to another, that’s the only thing in my head” – M.S.
Dhoni
According to Dhoni Staying in the moment is
the important mantra of the success. No matter what you are doing, missing out
on the ‘now’ moment grossly affects your productivity. So Keep calm and
control your emotions. Don’t think about past or future, focus only on present.
Dhoni is a Leader. He is trustworthy,
he stands by his teammates, he leads from front, he can handle
criticism well, he is a great communicator, he is great motivator,
and he is honest and fearless. So think the way Dhoni thinks and be a
successful.
I hope you like it. Please give me feedback and share this blog with others. I wish you will achieve your dream and my best wishes are with you.
